Position Summary

UGI is currently seeking an experienced Sr HRBP to join our Corporate HR team. The Sr HRBP provides HR support and partnership to assigned client groups in global functions. These groups include:

  • Direct support to General Counsel and the global legal organization
  • The global finance organization below the CFO
  • Other groups as assigned

 

Additionally, the successful candidate will lead the execution of strategic HR objectives including workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, compensation guidance, leadership development, coaching, and change initiatives. This role will be the primary lead for these initiatives across all Global Functions at UGI and the UGI Corp business unit.

 

This position is responsible for providing strategic direction and consultation to senior and mid-level leaders, as well as people managers on all matters involving employees including compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent retention strategies, leadership development, talent management, organizational development, and change management.

 

The successful candidate will have the skills and credibility to quickly establish relationships and become a trusted advisor to the business.  They will balance strategy development with tactical execution. Further, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to work independently and be a leader of initiatives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary HR business partner for leaders and managers across assigned corporate functions
  • Support the UGI People Strategy by understanding business goals and objectives; advising on the execution of organizational change initiatives; providing guidance to business leaders on HR issues.
  • Proactively counsel, collaborate, align, and drive execution with cross-functional and executive level stakeholders on HR strategies and tactics in alignment with business needs.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship and partnership with the business, human resource leaders and other HR Business Partners; liaison with HR Centers of Expertise (COE) and Leveraged Services for optimal client support.
  • Drive strategically integrated talent and workforce processes assessing talent pipeline and developing strategies and plans to foster growth and development.
  • Partnering with Total Rewards COE to conduct compensation and equity assessment of compensation programs including equity, merit, bonus, incentives, promotion, and reward & recognition programs.
  • Guide client groups through talent processes including performance management, Talent Review, Succession Planning, Compensation and Employee Engagement
  • Lead or participate in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives including HR and business transformation projects driving change management and successful adoption.
  • Leverage data to analyze talent trends and educate leadership teams to make better and more informed business and talent decisions
  • Evaluate and successfully resolve difficult employee relations issues, as well as evaluate and develop strategy for trends.
  • Provide input to COEs and Leveraged Services with the goal of continuous improvement and driving innovation
  • Act as a change agent, positioning HR as the voice of the organization.  Help stakeholders understand, accept and embrace change.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide verbal and written communications that are clear, succinct and persuasive.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEO, ADA and FMLA.
  • Ability to understand complex business challenges in the context of the bigger picture.
  • Strong drive for results to lead and facilitate efforts to ensure human resource functional alignment with the business units.
  • Proven skills in coaching, performance management and talent management
  • Demonstrated ability to deal directly with client leads to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change.
  • Ability to use research methods effectively including data collection and analysis.
  • Effectively manage ambiguity and change; comfortable with uncertainty.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10+ years of strong HR Business Partner experience combined with experience leading Talent Management, Organizational Development, Performance Management and/or other global process area as part of a global HR COE.
  • Prior experience in and supporting a matrixed organization.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification or equivalent.
