Position Summary

Manage the UGI corrosion supervisory staff providing planning, scheduling, training, motivation and evaluation of personnel and their performance.  Manage the corrosion control and transmission pipeline integrity requirements within the assigned territories. This involves conducting annual inspection assessments and coordination of any required remedial actions.  Assist in developing and field implementation of Corrosion Control Practices and Standards, Pipeline Integrity Practices, Operator Qualification and Corrosion Control Material Standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UGI corrosion supervisory staff in the UGI South region as well as UGI North areas of Wilkes Barre and Archbald, providing Dept. planning, budgeting, training, and the overall performance including succession planning.
  • Manage corrosion control and transmission pipeline integrity requirements across all assigned UGI Utilities locations.  This involves planning corrosion control inspections and assessments that include ECDA, ILI and Pressure Testing along with coordination and follow up of any required remedial actions.
  • Manage the corrosion control department support for assigned UGI operating areas steel projects by providing project planning and coordination including corrosion inspection services as needed.
  • Assist in developing and field implementation of standards for corrosion control, transmission pipeline integrity, operator qualification and corrosion control materials.
  • Assist with establishing the maintenance and capital budgets for Corrosion Control and manage the area performance to meet these budgets while maintaining the integrity of the corrosion systems and compliance requirements.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of relevant AAMP (NACE), ASME, ANSI and API Standards as well as State and Federal Regulations pertaining to pipeline operations, transmission integrity, and cathodic protection.
  • Knowledge of UGI or equivalent operation and construction practices with particular emphasis on steel pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and corrosion control application software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supervising and leading staff.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred – Engineering or Business.
  • 5 years progressive corrosion control experience in the pipeline industry.
  • NACE Corrosion Technician or CP2.
  • NACE (AMPP) Membership.
