N5SRP uses the principles and practices of the Main Street Four Point Approach ™ to foster the goals of neighborhood and commercial corridor revitalization, growth and vitality on North 5th Street in Olney.

Position Summary

The Corridor Manager & Development Strategist is a full time position and works in concert with the N5SRP Team to share and implement the organization work. The Team includes the Executive Director, Director of Operations, two Corridor Managers, and Cleaning Ambassadors. In addition to the strategy and corridor development, this position includes direct engagement and support for the small business owners. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience or education in one or more of the following areas: business administration, community and economic development, marketing, urban design, event planning, and communications. Volunteer/intern work experience will be considered in lieu of paid work experience.

  • Provide technical assistance to existing and potential business and property owners on the upper end of the N. 5th Street Commercial Corridor.
  • Assist merchants with applications to small business support programs (ie. Business Camera, In-Store, KivaSip, etc.). Track and evaluate program outputs and outcomes.
  • Work with local police districts and personnel, business owners and neighbors to report public safety issues, as well as communicate concerns and strategies to address public safety challenges.
  • Coordinate retail promotional events with business owners and the OCC Team members.
