Global Citizen

July 28, 2016

Global Citizen and MLK365 invite you to join them on Tuesday, August 2 at 6:30 pm at Reading Terminal Market for the 8th Annual Global Citizen Beer Summit on Race. This event is part of Global Citizen's ongoing quarterly conversation series in which a diverse group of community leaders, elected officials, students and concerned citizens come together for a meaningful conversation about challenges and solutions around race. This event will continue the discussion and search for solutions, focusing on police-community relations and race in America during the Obama presidency.

Tickets are limited and this event is free, including beer (alcohol & non-alcohol), soft drinks, and food-, but YOU MUST REGISTER HERE to attend and participate. Since tickets are limited, please do not register unless you intend to attend.
Global Citizen organized the first Beer Summit months after President Obama took office, in the wake of the July 2009 arrest of Harvard professor, Henry Louis Gates, on the front porch of his own home by Cambridge Police Sergeant, James Crowley. President Obama invited the two men to the White House for a meeting over beer to discuss the incident and race relations. As the eyes of the nation were focused on the White House, Global Citizen hosted their own Beer Summit in Center City for concerned citizens to meet and discuss race relations in our city and throughout the nation.
Hope to see you there!
