Spring Point Partners LLC (SPP) is a social impact venture committed to accelerating real change in areas of longstanding interest and support including positive youth development, animal welfare, sustainable water and learning innovations. The HIVE at Spring Point was founded to amplify voice, choice and opportunity for young people and supports SPP’s efforts around positive youth development. The HIVE’s recently acquired space, located in Center City Philadelphia, serves as the emotional and physical home of the initiative. The HIVE seeks to hire a full-time Youth Voice and Narrative Program Officer to add to its growing team. We are looking for a dynamic and responsive individual who will help develop and then provide oversight to The HIVE’s evolving narrative and fellowship program.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
The primary responsibilities of the position are:• Work in partnership with the HIVE staff and programs to develop, manage and coordinate the execution of the HIVE’s narrative change strategy through grant making, impact investment and direct programming.• Help strategize around telling the stories of the challenges young people experience in addressing negative developmental experiences and systemic barriers. We want to inspire others and tell the story of the important work that our team is doing every single day to address systemic issues such as the lack of affordable housing or a broken criminal justice system.• Leverage program leadership and youth voice to lift up their stories as we implement narrative change strategies.• Develop and manage a grant portfolio dedicated to achieving narrative outcomes.• Support the Co-Directors of the HIVE to directly communicate with sector leaders, influencers, media and stakeholders to achieve narrative change outcomes.• Lead issue-specific communications in service of narrative goals.• Develop narrative programming at the HIVE in partnership with programs and young people.• In partnership with relevant internal and external stakeholders, develop the full scope of The HIVE’s youth fellowship strategy including:o Recruitment, operations and direct programmingo Process for paperwork, payroll and other logistics for Fellowso Recruitment and management of adult mentorso Design and facilitation of regular meetings with the Fellows, as well as international and national travel with the Fellowso Identifying, vetting and coordinating the work of external presenters and consultantso Meeting individually with Fellows to support progress in their work• Develop opportunities to integrate the work of the Fellows into other HIVE (or related) initiatives to maximize the impact of youth voice.• Strategically cultivate connections that will help Fellows achieve their identified long-term goals.• Keep current with best practices and innovative approaches in the fields relevant to interests and specific project areas of the Fellows.• In partnership with The HIVE’s Operations Manager coordinate use of space and supervise the work of narrative grantees and Fellows when on-site at The HIVE.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
The Youth Voice and Narrative Program Officer will have the following qualifications and experience:• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience working directly with or on behalf of youth and young adults.• Bachelor’s level degree in a relevant discipline (either youth focused or related to communications and narrative change).• Deep commitment to youth voice and leadership.• Familiarity with youth-serving systems that impact the lives of young adults, such as child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health and education.• Familiarity and experience with messaging and communications.• Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships, and building credibility and trust among a diverse set of stakeholders, including young people.• Experience with project management including defining upfront goals and objectives and then initiating, planning, and executing on that vision.• Excellent presentation, writing and verbal communication skills including experience communicating effectively and efficiently across a range of audiences and stakeholders.• Excellent planning, problem-solving and time management skills.• Flexibility and ability to manage shifting priorities.• Exceptional interpersonal skills.• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:• Experience managing narrative and messaging campaigns related to social change efforts, especially related to young people.• Experience working directly with youth and young adults in a similar role.• Experience with group process and facilitation.• Experience with starting projects and seeing them through successful design and implementation.• Deep knowledge of positive youth development.• Good sense of humor.• Desire to work within the small team “start-up” culture of The HIVE.
More Details: 
Travel will likely be required several times a year, but the office is based in Philadelphia.
