Position Summary: 
This position is part of a seasonal team responsible for the Urban Affairs Coalition’s Summer Youth Employment program, which provides paid summer job opportunities and support to youth ages 14-18 through WorkReady Philadelphia. The six week program runs from July through mid-August and includes career exposure, on-the-job mentoring and professional development. In 2019, UAC anticipates serving 1,500 youth. The WorkReady Worksite Manager is responsible for worksite recruitment and enrollment, youth program participant placement, and ensuring worksite satisfaction. The Worksite Manager is responsible for ensuring all worksite enrollment and youth placement goals are met and in compliance with funder requirements. In 2019 UAC anticipates enrolling over 200 worksites and placing approximately 1,500 youth at those sites. This position will directly supervise 5 staff members and will require extensive coordination with the Project Director, Enrollment/Payroll Manager, Program Managers, and other key staff. This is a seasonal position beginning in February and ending in August/September.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
February - June
  • Oversee worksite recruitment and enrollment, which includes identifying suitable worksites, conducting outreach, and completing all appropriate paperwork including background check clearances for worksite supervisors;
  • Responsible for placement of youth participants at worksites, in coordination with other key staff;
  • Oversee related data entry and file maintenance, ensuring accurate data collection and consistent, transparent, quality communication flow both internally and externally;
  • Coordinate with Project Director, Program Managers, and Worksite Manager to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries from worksites as well as from youth applicants and their families regarding program details and requirements
  • Oversee related data entry and file maintenance, ensuring accurate data collection and consistent, transparent, quality communication flow both internally and externally;
  • Perform other related duties as required to ensure program quality and funder compliance.
July - August
  • Continue to troubleshoot worksite paperwork and clearance issues, as well as youth placement issues
  • Serve as centralized point of contact for issues and concerns from worksites, which may require coordination with other managers and staff to resolve
  • Support program close-out, including reviewing staff reports and ensuring files are complete and stored neatly;
  • Perform other related duties as required to ensure program quality and funder compliance.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • Must be a flexible, communicative, and agile team player, able to coordinate and share resources and data;
  • Strong leadership skills - must be comfortable delegating tasks and managing a team;
  • Ability to motivate and support staff, including individual staff  development and forming a cohesive team
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage a diverse staff, a large volume of data, and troubleshoot a large volume of inquiries
  • Ability to deescalate conflict and stay cool under pressure
  • Strong inquiry and conflict resolution skills;
  • Must be able to multi-task while meeting programmatic benchmarks and deadlines;
  • Good organization skills and detailed-oriented;
  • Must be comfortable working with youth and young adults ages 14-18;
  • Must be willing to work some non-traditional hours, as needed;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer-service oriented;
  • Must be a self-starter with good time management skills;
 EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
  • A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in program management, preferably with experience in large-scale program management;
  • Experience with data collection and processes;
  • Experience working with youth and young adults ages 14-18;
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or human resources preferred;
  • Experience working with both nonprofits and businesses preferred, including a working knowledge of the nonprofit and business communities in the Philadelphia area;
  • Experience leading and managing a diverse team required;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
