Position Summary: 
The West Philly Tool Library, a nonprofit community tool lending library, is seeking a paid Tool Librarian. The ideal candidate will be committed to the mission and goals of the project, community- and service-oriented, and reliable and responsible about running the Tool Library independently and promoting its membership within the community.
Salary & Benefits: 
Tool Librarians are paid $13.25 per hour.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
Providing positive member experience for Tool Library members ● Collecting late fees and membership dues ● Maintaining tools and performing basic repair ● Keeping the Tool Library organized and clean ● Accepting tool donations ● Checking tools in and out to members of the community ● Performing simple bookkeeping, including nightly shift reports ● Maintaining computer database that tracks tool use and member information ● Maintaining a culture within the Tool Library aligned with its mission and goals ● Promoting the Tool Library and recruiting volunteers ● Communicating with the Tool Library Advisory Board about areas for improvements
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
Commitment to promoting community in West and Southwest Philly ● Basic knowledge of tools with a desire to learn more (strong knowledge of tools and basic home repair preferred) ● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality member services ● High level of organization ● Attention to detail ● Excellent communication skills ● Familiarity with computers and databases
More Details: 
The Tool Librarian will work independently, splitting shifts with other staff during Tool Library hours, which may include the following times: ● Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm ● Saturday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
