Position Summary: 
Galaei, a queer Llatinx health and social justice organization, program partner of the Urban Affairs Coalition is currently looking for an individual to fill the position of SOY Project Coach. The vision of the SOY Project, an initiative of Galaei’s Youth Program is to support the self-efficacy and empowerment of queer and Trans Latinx youth and youth of color through coaching and mentorship. The SOY Project is targeted to provide coaching through one-on-one mentoring, group support and community engagement. The coaching provides support for youth in the areas of sexual health and identity, educational support, employment, conflict resolution and mental health advocacy.

Youth Programs Manager
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
• Provide coaching sessions to youth enrolled in SOY project • Maintain client charts including documentation of all delivered services and sessions conducted • Conduct outreach and recruitment with an emphasis on queer and trans youth of color • Facilitate workshops and trainings using Galaei’s Gender & Sexuality Curriculum • Host monthly outreach events to attract and engage youth • Establish appropriate collaborative relationships with local community based organizations (CBO), schools and social services providers • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual work plans • Participate in organization wide events • Make referrals as needed • Responsible for occasional local travel as needed by clients
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred) • Experience working with LGBTQ youth of color (desired) • Knowledge of psychosocial issues related to youth risk behavior including sexual and substance abuse • Knowledge of sexuality, homophobia, gender identity and expression and other issues relating to LGBTQ youths- as well as ho these issues impact the overall development of youth; • Must be able to work with diverse populations of people and prove effective outreach to the target population; • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team, demonstrate mutual respect for coworkers and be committed to working from a sex positive and social, racial and economic justice perspective; • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to facilitate groups; • Must be highly organized, able to work under pressure, dynamic, creative and self-motivated; • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to take initiative in carrying out tasks to conclusion; • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
More Details: 
Position is contracted for one fiscal year with refunding contingent upon funding availability
