Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for the supervision of the clients in the following areas:  conduct, personal hygiene, chores and compliance with the facility Rules and Regulations.
  • Responsible for making facility checks before assuming responsibility and noting deficiencies during the shift change.
  • Conduct body searches as well as building, bedroom and locker searches as directed by the Sift Supervisor and/or Lead Residential Aide.
  • Completion of written shift reports, incident reports, intakes, medication logs and other pertinent paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the supervision of clients signing in and out.
  • Responsible for supervision of client’s consumption of prescribed medications.
  • Responsible for provision of clean bed linen, towels, clothes when necessary, and toiletries needed.
  • Responsible for monitoring the facility, check and secure fire doors, tour building and secure every 30-60 minutes during shift and document as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining orderliness and cleanliness inside and outside the facility.
  • Responsible for responding with flexibility in cooperation with emergency requests, changes in work schedule or assignments.
  • Beware of and convey resident communications to appropriate Supervisor or Directors, so that preventive measures can be taken to maintain the health, safety and security of the residents, staff and facility.
  • Responsible for sharing observations and recommendations regarding the facility, residents and staff relations to identify and solve problems and to ensure staff functions as a team.
  • Responsible for informing Shift Supervisor of any unusual incidents and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the building, setting up cots, breaking down cots and removal of trash.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with some experience community service experience working with people.
    • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, and bend.
    • Must be able to visually observe residents: hear, understand, and interpret resident behavior.
  • Participation in general staff meetings, department meetings and training as directed.
  • Must be able to provide feedback to shift leader or designee in order to improve services within the facility for the clients served by the program.
  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented, tasks-driven and able to work independently and set daily priorities by maintaining a weekly as well as a monthly schedule.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and willingness to assist whenever needed.
  • Must have valid driver’s licensing and motor vehicle record.
  • Criminal and Child Abuse clearance will be required.
 EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 2 year experience working in a residential facility with individuals who may have challenges in the following areas:  homeless, substance abuse and mental health with an acceptable combination of equivalent skills and experience.
