Position Summary: 
This position is a key member of the programs team. The Financial Specialist will work directly with low income participants across ECS’ programs on improving their financial wellbeing. While focused on financial wellbeing, this position is designed to work holistically with participants to identify strengths and problem solve around challenges toward promoting economic mobility. Therefore goals may be around career development, education/training, financial management, family stability or wellness. In addition, the Financial Specialist will provide support to direct service staff across ECS’ programs, training them on topics related to budgeting, credit scores, debt, etc., and will also arrange for outside presenters to come in to facilitate workshops related to these topics.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
Champion the ECS Path to Prosperity model (adapted from EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring Model®) throughout all of ECS by providing peer coaching, team support and Prosperity Model coaching as part of participant services. Build and maintain relationships with financial service institutions in the Greater Philadelphia region. Provide financial wellbeing services to individual ECS participants and to groups. Support ECS participants in their journeys to economic self-sufficiency. Assess needs of ECS participants to inform economic mobility strategies.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of two (2) years of financial counseling experience. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of promoting economic mobility for low income adults. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of financial literacy for low income adults. Experience with coaching and capacity for effective coaching. Computer proficiency and working knowledge of relevant software and applications. Experience with Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) systems preferred, but not required. Proven ability to develop and facilitate workshops and trainings. Comprehensive understanding of performance outcome measurement and quality improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal/human relations skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to function as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge of the effects of intergenerational poverty on individuals and families in Philadelphia. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to represent ECS effectively in a variety of settings, and with diverse communities
