Program Summary: 
WAA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency, is Philadelphia’s leading domestic violence advocate and service provider and among the largest domestic violence agencies in the country. The mission of WAA is to provide quality, compassionate and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education. With over 150 staff, WAA serves over 15,000 individuals each year through emergency residential services (2 - 100 bed safe havens and 15 transitional housing apartments), legal services, hotline counseling, aftercare community based services, prevention & education, and advocacy. Salary & Benefits: 
commensurate with experience as well as a generous, comprehensive benefit package.
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, flexibility needed
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
Summary of Primary Responsibilities Responsible for the overall management of our properties, food services and security, with a focus on maintaining a safe, clean and supportive community environment. Responsibilities will include ensuring appropriate and required processes, procedures and related implementation of: facilities maintenance, custodial, security services, kitchen services, preventative maintenance, capital improvements, emergency planning, space planning, rent collection, lease management, fleet management, space planning, and procurement of related contractors.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.  
  • A minimum of seven (5) years’ experience in residential facilities management, including cleaning standards and safety requirements (OSHA).
  • Minimum of five (3) years of related supervisory experience. 
  • Prior experience with creating and managing a budget(s).
  • Experience with vendor and contractor bidding and selection, and management of the related contracts.
  • Experience writing and implementing policies & procedures, required.
  • Experience with lease management required.  Space planning experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with managing projects required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a non-profit is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) skills.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking skills and have a genuine service orientation. 
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Will be required to attend 45 hours of Domestic Violence Training, post hire.
  • Employment offer and continued employment are contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment physical, child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances required (all related fees will be paid by Women Against Abuse).
