Program Summary: 
This position is part of a seasonal team responsible for the Urban Affairs Coalition’s Summer Youth Employment program, which provides paid summer job opportunities and support to youth ages 14-18 through WorkReady Philadelphia. The six week program runs from July through mid-August and includes career exposure, on-the-job mentoring and professional development. In 2018, UAC anticipates serving 1,400 youth.
Position Summary: 
The Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing orientation sessions, youth professional development workshops, contextual learning projects, and staff development for UAC’s 3 WorkReady program models. This position will work closely with the Assistant Director and the Program Managers to ensure all youth participants participate in rewarding and enriching professional development opportunities. This is a seasonal position beginning in May and ending in August/September.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
Identify best practice resources and methods for delivering participant orientations, mentoring, workshops, and enrichment activities. Prepare written materials incorporating the identified best practice materials, including curricula for the 3 program models. Conduct outreach to various organizations and businesses to arrange for guest speakers and workshops for youth professional development days. Identify and develop curriculum, workshops, and guest speakers for staff professional development. Coordinate and schedule youth and worksite orientations, youth professional development, and staff professional development. Coordinate with Program Mentors and other staff to implement and facilitate youth orientations, workshops, and enrichment activities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A minimum of 2-5 years previous work experience preferred. Experience mentoring and/or teaching youth and young adults ages 14-21 preferred. Experience developing and implementing curriculum and professional development preferred. Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and have strong typing skills.
