Program Summary: 
VietLEAD is a grassroots, Vietnamese community-based organization that focuses on intergenerational healing through leadership development, community engagement, culture & arts, and health promotion work. Our focus is participatory democracy, youth organizing, health and healing, and culture and arts programming with and by our community. Our vision is to integrate unique, sustainable programming that builds the skills, leadership, and collaboration needed to ensure that our community can thrive in Philadelphia and South Jersey.
Position Summary: 
The Community Defense Project was developed in response to a new era of community intimidation and harassment under the new presidential administration. We have seen an increase in bias harassment, hate crime, and now deportation and detention raids. VietLead has organized a network of support from coast to coast to track what is happening in Vietnamese communities in both urban and rural areas – and this network continues to grow. Our community defense project focuses primarily on Vietnamese individuals with prior criminal convictions, and their experience with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2017.
Salary & Benefits: 
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
• Intake, Case management and Follow-up of incoming Vietnamese individuals with prior criminal convictions
• Action plan creation and support with all Vietnamese individuals with prior criminal convictions
• Interfacing and communication with National Vietnamese Anti-Deportation Strategies Network
• Supporting Program Staff in organizing, planning, and carrying out programming
• Other programming-related support as needed
• Representing VietLead at Community Defense meetings
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
• Four-year Bachelor’s preferred
• Previous experience with individual case management
• Excellent organization skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Bilingual in Vietnamese/English preferred
• Access to transportation preferred
• PC computer literacy, proficient in Word, Excel, and internet usage
• Experience working in immigrant communities preferred
