Position Summary: 
WTXF is seeking an broadcast operations technician to join our team supporting multiple live studio productions and on-air operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
This position will fill a variety of production roles for our newscasts and/or operate master control including prep material for air on our stations, assuring that all elements of the WTXF on-air presentation are of the highest quality. Roles may include; technical director with the ability to operate a video switcher manually as well as under automation control; audio board operator supporting live newscasts and a live variety/talk show; floor director with the ability to perform all pre-show equipment checks and provide talent/guests with cues and direction; technical operations coordinator with the ability to tune-in live satellite, microwave, and IP-delivered signals; master control operator capable of operating/monitoring automation system and managing logs, discrepancy reports, and other documents as required; program prep/ingest operator capable of acquiring syndicated programming and commercials, performing quality control checks, and preparing for on-air delivery. This person may also be called upon to assist the creative services department in editing commercial and promotional materials for on-air delivery and perform other duties as directed by Engineering Management.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
The team member that WTXF seeks will be able to work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints and have at least 3 years experience working in a live newscast environment. A college degree in a related communications field with a concentration in television production is preferred. This person must be able to work various hours and shifts including weekends and holidays as well as be on-call to fill shifts as needed. Preference will be given to those candidates that have experience with any or all of the following; Sony ELC, Sony MVS8000, SSL C10, Troll, AutoSat, iTX, iNews, Ross Cambot, Chyron, and Adobe Premiere. The position requires the ability to handle repetitive bending/reaching, sitting and/or standing for long hours, able to see full color spectrum, hear audio frequencies up to 1 kHZ, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted. WTXF Engineering staff is represented by the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 98.
