State Representative Jordan A. Harris is hosting his 4th annual summer street festival, which will be a day of fun and entertainment!

For the youth there will be a moon bounce, face painting, basketball, food/drinks, and live entertainment! Attendees will be able to go to the free health screenings, to participate in fitness activities as well as recieve information on topics such as registering to vote and attend the PA 529 College Savings Program/ utility assistance programs.

Join The Black Writer's Museum in this free festival and celebration that will help maintain a healthy and thriving Philadelphia community!

This free community festival features a live concert by jazz great and multi-Grammy winner, Stanley Clarke. Known for his epic Hollywood movie soundtracks, and the internationally recognized "Return to Forever" album with Chick Korea and Al DiMeola, Clarke is a native of Philadelphia, and will celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of his earliest albums, "School Days." Stanley has agreed to cut short his European tour to come to Philadelphia.

The festival begins at 12:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM. 

Anti-Defamation League Volunteers Needed for 5K Walk Against Hate

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, join the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for the 5th Annual 5K Walk Against Hate in an effort to reject bigotry and celebrate diversity.

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will host their 5th Annual 5K Walk Against Hate from 11am-2pm starting at Martin Luther King Drive. The walk will bring together people from across the region to reject bigotry and celebrate diversity. In addition to the walk, this event will include a Diversity Expo highlighting the work of over 20 local nonprofit organizations working in areas such as LGBT equality, culture and ethnicity. Local musicians will also be feature on the Diversity Expo stage.

Led by GALAEI, SEXx Intearctive: A Journey for the Mind, Heart and Body, will be held May 7th-10th. Patterned off TEDx style talks, SEXx Interactive is a multi-day sex-positive conference featuring workshops, academic presentations, art galleries, and performances. The DARLA Award is presented to individuals who show leadership and work to improve the community in ways that align with GALAEI’s mission.

On Monday, March 9th beginning at 7pm, the Free Library of Philadelphia, Producer's Guild and PJP teamed up to bring you the next installment of of their Mysterious Travelers Concert series, Karen Smith. Smith is a percussionist, playwright, director, producer, poet, and educator originally from Brooklyn but a Philadelphian since 1993. Here is your opportunity to meet Smith live in concert at the Parkway Central Library within the Montgomery Auditorium.
